Default NFL Draft Talk

The NFL draft is this weekend!!

What will the Lions do with the #1 overall pick?
Keep it? Take Stafford with it? Trade it? Use it on another WR?!

Will there be any big draft day trades?
Will Brady Quinn still be a Brown come Sunday?

What will YOUR team do in the draft?

Think the Lions' new 'fiercer' logo will help?

well i think the Lions (with the number one or not ,and I think not)...
will draft with their heads in their...basement!

gotta remember last years...Ryan #3, Flacco #18, Eddie Royal #42 and a bunch of D starters inbetween.
Way heavy on D for the top draft prospects ...again!

What's weird is......IMO the Lions were NOT the worst team in the league last year. They were QUITE competitive in quite a few of their games....just didn't end up on the right end of the score in any of 'em.

Therefore don't be surprised if this offseason's changes, a good draft, and more distance from Millen decisions allows the Lions to be FAR more than just 1 game improved in the win column. I'm not suggesting playoffs, or even .500....just saying they were NOT as bad as their record indicated last year.

Oh alright they will win two or three games.

I just don't see that much of a difference maker this year.

Can the Georgia Quarterback or the other Qb be the next Matt Ryan. I don't think so.

It is going to be a little strange having it start in the afternoon though.

Will they only have 10 minutes to pick or something and even then it could still take hours for the first round?

I am a nice guy and the Lions really deserve the first pick.

But my teams has so many holes that even if they had picks 2-7 they would still not win very many games still.

A backup Qb would be nice but we will pick another defensive lineman and we have had terrible luck with them in the first round especially in recent past drafts.

An offensive lineman would be really good as well but that will probably not happen.

I guess any type of defensive player would help some but our QB got sacked a whole bunch of times last season.

Well I guess Curry the linebacker but would a linebacker make a huge impact on a team no matter how good he is.

As I said before I just don't think this draft has a lot of difference makers in it.

Thank to ESPN there is almost no drama for the #1 pick anymore.

I know they want the big scoop but it sure would be nice if they us and pretend they have no idea who the first pick is even if they do.

Just another ESPN critique by P.

What would help a team get better changing their logo or making the right pick with the first pick?

I will just throw this out there for discussion.

Who should the Lions pick first no matter what there needs might be.

In other words who is the best player in this draft?

IMO it's linebacker Aaron Curry, hands down.....but that's a position WELL down the list of positions of need for the Lions.....

If the Lions can't work out a deal with the Georgia QB before Saturday then they might be picking Smith or Curry with an outside chance at Sanchez.

Detroit trades their pick if they are smart. But hey picking a WR like 10 years in a row ain't smart. They should trade down a few and try to get Sanchez or Stafford. I mean not many teams ahead of the Jets at like #17 need a QB. Means they could trade down several spots and get depth or picks. A scenario of such:

Trade down 5-6 spots. Get a few extra draft picks. At this point if both QBs are still available trade down even further. Or if none of the teams before the Jets would be QB hunting trade as far down as #16. IMO Sanchez is better than Stafford anyway. Noway the Lions can fix it all with one pick. BUT maybe with 4-5 picks on day 1 they can get to .500

I am sick of it. Anticipation builds only to have ESPN show the phone call and the agent putting a hat on his player etc. I mean how crap is this. You dont see miss America backstage on the phone getting her sash on. It is the biggest crap thing when they spoil it like they do.
