Be wary of those intertubes
Ok I watched some of the youtube/Dem debate the other night. It had some good in it (the questions posed were far better than most Ive heard from any moderator which sadly showed the decrepit state of modern punditry). It had some bad (too much "cutesy" stuff with the videos, could have given the candidates more time to answer, and given all candidates the oppurtunity to answer all the questions). But overall Id give the format a very marginal thumbs up. So of course Im a bit disappointed to see that only Mccain and fringe element contender Ron Paul are the only GOPers signed up for the Republican version of the debate in September. It sure doesnt do alot to overcome the Bush-era version of debates and town hall meetings on the conservative side where you make sure the audience is packed with loyalists and partisans. Or the last debate where the big moment was when they tried to one-up each other on who would use torture the most.
