The optimist Twins fan in me: I cant wait for Boof to outduel Johan in game 7 of the World Series

The realistic Twins fan in me: I hope we have enough starting pitching, hitting (there's nothing outside of MAUJO/CUDMI/MORJU/YOUDE), and fielding (losing Hunter hurt alot there, though I love the idea of Adam Everett at SS to more than componsate the sometimes erratic BARJA) to finish ahead of the White Sox.

How many 20 game winners in the NL last year?

BELCA and DELCA did SQUAT coming down the stretch when the Mets had a nice lead. WRIDA carried that team. With the addition of SANJO and if MARPE has any kind of a year....and hopefully RANWI learning from his mistakes last year...the Mets WILL win it in 2008.(the national league that is.) I expect to see them in the World Series with no problem.

Why do you have to use all those symbols. How are the newbies going to understand?

You make it sound like any good pitcher in the NL can win 20.

Thats about a true statment.... I mean we have the weaker offensive league... and weaker defensive league...

I mean we can't hide our worst defensive player on the bench and still let him get 4-5 AB's a game.....

No NL pitcher won 20 games in 2007. Does that mean there were no good NL pitchers?

ummm errol with all due respect, pedro is far from the best in the league even when he's 100% healthy. if he were no way epstein would have let him go that guy has an eye for talented pitching and can spot it even when no one else can.

and rich, as for the mets winning the NL in 2008, i'll believe that when i see it. I expect to see the cubs or even the lowly NL west back in the series before the mets. call me negative, but i don't believe one player (especially a pitcher who only plays at best once a week) makes that much of a difference.

i applaud the mets for getting him so cheap and i laugh heartedly at the foolish twins. moral of the story.....greed is a bad bad thing.

I still can't believe that we (I'm speaking for Sabean here) traded Nathan, Liriano & Boof for that worthless catcher Pierzynski.

Oh well....
