John....your 2nd baseman commented the next day that it was good hard baseball and after watching it himself did NOT think it was a cheap shot. IMO it was real close to the "line" though.

I think if it was ARod, who's become a real lightning rod, there would have been no discussion about it.

By the "good 'ol days", do you mean the days of out of shape players with equipment that was less than satifactory? Please tell us how it was better in the good 'ol days.

I'm not going to get into this again. I will say that people are over estimating the effects that HGH has on performance though.

Riverfront Stadium, Fulton County Stadium, Busch Stadium, Three Rivers Stadium, the Kingdome, McAfee Stadium, Veterans Stadium, and Shea Stadium say thank God! As for the lights at Wrigley Field, it was ultimantly a good thing for baseball in the North side.

If you don't like baseball, that's cool. It really is. I don't particularly like the NBA, NHL, NSCR or the NFL either. If the Dolphins, Lakers, Hurricanes, or my current NSCR splits aren't involved, I really don't care. Then again, I don't make nonsense posts explaining why I haven't watched a particular sport either.

You can still getcheap tickets http://baltimore.orioles.mlb.com/bal/ballpark/seating_pricing.jsp
to an Orioles game. Take your kids to a game sometime. They will remember it for the rest of their lives.

The easy, and correct, answer is no. The Yankees are only on the hook for $16M a year for AROD. What kind of starting pitching would that buy?
Would it repace his offense?

Cheap seats? I looked at the link and I don't see any "$1.50" tickets on there anywhere! $8 is the cheapest and good "bleacher seats" are $15. If I am not mistaken, that is an 900% increase in ticket prices. 900% is a bit higher than the inflation rate since those "good ol' days" when you could take a family of 4 to a ball game and get souvineers for the same $15 for a ticket nowadays.

DBacks have $1 seats. LIL strip around the top back on ea side 2 seats each all the way up. As far as the games go they don't sell out and it is disappointing seeing only 30k show up for a first place team. Sure it may not last but with a low payroll and very YOUNG team why not get excited.

ARod would be traded if I were in charge. Total revamp. I never thought I would see the pinstripers in dead last. I mean if they slip a game or so more they could hold the worst record in the league. Rocket? Turn-around? We shall see. It would make a good story. Or trade both Rocket and ARod and build for the future if no improvement by mid-season. Some team would pay dearly for these two players. I think Arod would do well out of the media hyped east coast. Also would be a hero for a struggling franchise.

It's been pointed out to him before, but hey, let's not let a little matter such as facts get in the way of a good rant.

$1.50 seats have went the way of running boards, top hats, and bell bottoms. The Washington Nationals have some $5.00 seats. The Met's have $5.00 seats available. The Yankees have $10.00 seats available. All three parks are within easy traveling distance of Memorial Park. I mean if you can't afford $20.00/$40.00 to take your family of four to to a MLB game, I have to question how you can even afford internet access. But hey, take them to a highschool game or a NewYork-Penn league game instead. There's always options to watching a baseball game.

In my opinion you just can't beat college baseball. Affordable and you see effort you just don't see in the majors anymore. And if you are a Husker fan and a Royals fan like me(or any similar situation) you may even see better ball players at the college game.

And before the Royals fans bash me, I am one too. Just remember a year ago at this time I was watching Gordon in Lincoln and now he is in KC. At least he still is for now.
