at NO point did I say or even suggest I was planning to take amnesty away..........I simply raised the question...in part to get some darn POSTING going on here.

Guess I got that in this thread, eh?

btw...if you're posting here, you're IN the darn clique- it's called being a JS member.

also btw...hey Bruce...any job openings?

Default Larger Ports

I agree with Rich. WHen Amnesty was first proposed, it was a way to level the playing field. If my memory is still intact, I thought at the same time, or shortly after, there was also supposed to be an offset to Amnesty by offering ways to invest the ( at that time ) huge amounts of cash we were getting. Almost none of the big port guys complained when Amnesty was undertaken. That was years ago and to this day the big ports are still waiting for the offset. And I can not remember any player griping about the fact that we have not been able to invest the cash/get a return on the cash. I would say that the top TV ports not only have NOT been catered to, but they have been pretty damm supportive of all the changes that were made to help the smaller TV ports and active players. IMHO thats the big picture and its important in this discussion.

Won over who regarding what? Do you think we should continue amnesty or not? I'm considered a big port I guess (35 overall) and I think we should keep it.

PS: Did Troy buy your port?

Default ???????

Won another one over. Hardly. I have been here since day one. Rich and I have disagreed at times through the years, in a civil way. However, having been here for a long time, I do have knowledge about what was said, done, and not done going back to the begining. I have read countless posts about cliques here that are a hoot. Some people think we PM each other and plot against certain members, which I can assure you, and Orren can verify, is not true. The sum total of the "cliques" here is this: Some members share the same point of view on things, having been here a long time, and tend to agree on certain subjects. Those same people also have a pretty good understanding and respect for the game. Some people, in all honesty, are a little too thin skinned. These boards are VERY MILD compared to what you see on many spots blogs. If Rich, and other members see something they think is BS they are apt to call someone on the carpet for what they see as BS. Call a spade a spade. Someone gets their feelings hurt and the natural reaction is to either overreact or escalate the situation. So be it. Thats the world we live in. I personally have little regard for people who live in glass houses and point out every little wrong they have suffered while totally ignoring their own actions. If this makes me a clique member, great. Im guilty.

Just remember to send me your $9.95...and you get your ring.
