Default out of Sorts

I recently switched to Mac, and noticed this morning the the ability to sort both portfolio and the ML2 are out of whack.

Not sure if it is only a Safari issue, or if it is happening with other browsers also...

EDIT: loaded FF and that works fine. In Safari, it appears to go through a motion like it is sorting, but afterward the columns are refreshed, but not sorted.

Well, let me know how eager you'd be to drop $1500+ on a laptop with an OS (Vista) that is torturous to work with, and can only be raised to a standard that is unstable at best.

This thing is already paying dividends, and I've yet to scratch the surface with it.

On the browser issue: it worked fine when I checked high value stocks about 6am. It was after 8am when it stopped sorting properly...

Vista is not nearly as bad as you think it may be. I am assuming you have used it?

Hmmm. I can try to look into it, but without a Mac to develop on, it is hard for me to see [and fix] the issue you are talking about.

Been with Windows since 3.1, it just seemed time to make the switch. Don't know what the reports for J$ traffic show, but there has been a steady erosion of Gate's grip going strong for over 18 months.

The Safari browser is working well now. Might have been related to something I did...

Since you asked, from 1 February to 25 March, 3.47% of users are Mac users. From 01 December to 25 March, 2.84% have been Mac users. So, a very minimal change, IMO.

That's a 22% increase.

Do you have the number from March '07?

No detailed stats from March 2007.

Also, Windows share did not change.

Unless Linux users dropped, that increase took from somewhere.

No matter. It would most likely be a better conversation for two years from now. For the moment, I am way happy.

A 22% increase sounds impressive, but going from 1% to 2% is 100% increase, but not a very impressive market share.
I think you buy a Mac if you have a specific use where it runs circles around intel/ms, otherwise the cost and lack of developers willing to put in time for such a small client base, just not worth it. Some argue security/attacks reasons, that has validity, but if you run protection on ms, use a router, and don't open unknown email, and stay away from ---- sites your risk is very small.

P.S. I have used Macs at work before, I love em, especially the high quality EXPENSIVE MONITORS.

The odd thing I'VE heard (having only sat at a MAC a couple times) is.......currently, MACs will run Vista better than a PC will!

And if that's true, there's no lack of software available...

Of course MAC's are more expensive than the average PC

Vista...works fine! Exceptions being networking, filesharing (file prioritizing?) and very large downloads.
I have used for over a year now...love it...much more automatic than Win Pro 2000 (my last O/S)...One thing to keep in mind though...Vista does NOT like Beta version driver/software...everything MUST be legit and it will work great!

Hey,

No problems with Vista for me. The big thing with Vista is to have more than recommended memory, let me correct that "Way More Than Recommended Memory".

I am running 4 GB of RAM and never have a problem.
