WOW How impressive was Butler?!?
What an amazing run!!!! They played way above anyone's expectations, and made a game of what everyone (whether they want to admit it or not) expected to be a blow out. They didn't win the championship but they sure as heck played like champs tonight.
Kudos to the men from Indianapolis...........

The morning after the game.
I did not think it would be a blowout. But I did not think it would be as close as 59-61 either. I knew that if Butler could hang in their until halftime they would at least have a shot. I think Butler was only down by a point at halftime. I think the largest lead by either team was six points. This was one of the better championship games I can remember well since Patrick Ewing and Rollie Massimino. That was really David beating Goliath and yes Patrick Ewing was pretty much Goliath for Georgetown.

What amazing......EVERY DARN TIME Butler allowed 60 points, they LOST! EVERY TIME!
Great run, great game, congrats to both teams, congrats to Duke on the win

Not to diminish the play of Duke but I bet the Butler coaching staff wishes they had that last 30 seconds of the game back.

I am sure Clark kellogg has received his honorary degree from Duke by now. His bias was almost as bad as when Bill Walton called an AZ game with his son Luke - at least he had an excuse. I thought he was turning into Dick Vitale for a while.

I was very impressed with Butler. They showed that they belonged to be there in that position. I fully expect them to make a run next year as well.
I'm disappointing, though, that Duke, of all the #1 seeds, had pretty much the easiest road to get to the championship. Meanwhile, Kansas, IMO had the toughest, and it showed. (I hate Duke!) |

I think Brad Stevens is an outstanding coach especially considering he is only 33 years old but.....IMHO....they waited too long to shoot and then blew their last time out because they had the wrong guy inbounding the ball.
