Default Who's your Daddy?

A Kansas man who donated ----- to a lesbian couple after answering an online ad is fighting the state's efforts to suddenly force him to pay child support for the now 3-year-old girl, arguing that he and the women signed an agreement waiving all of his parental rights.

The case hinges on the fact that no doctors were used for the artificial insemination. The state argues that because William Marotta didn't work through a clinic or doctor, as required by state law, he can be held responsible for about $6,000 that the child's biological mother received through public assistance – as well as future child support.

HA!!

If I was the donor....I would say it would not have happened without that waiver.
Having a 'doctor'...or clinic...perform the procedure...would have made no difference to the end result!

The couple having the baby MUST assume the responsibilities that go with it.

NO effin way this guy should pay...what kinda crap is that!
Would be WAY different if this guy actually did the insertion of the goo. But he didn't!
This sounds really unfair.
I not in the mood to argue the other way, but there is a point to be made there as well.

I heard that he didn't even receive any money from it, he voluntarily donated it because he wanted the couple (who has since separated and are now in a custody battle). The woman who has custody applied for state aid and the state is claiming the donor to be fully responsible. I agree, he should've made the couple sign a waiver.

This is just bureaucracy at it's finest.

Once someone gets a gold digging lawyer (ain't they all?), this is what happens...

A person, with the right attorney, could literally sue or seek compensation for almost every activity a person does that involves interaction with another person...yes, it is that bad, imo.
