NHL Amnesty
I should've scheduled this before, but let's talk about it now...
The NHL All-Star break begins today...no official games until next Tuesday with the All-Star game on Sunday. I'll work up an updated split list....but when should amnesty be held? We've been holding it for around 30 hours....including 2 evenings...so everyone that wants a chance to pick up missed/sold/etc splits can do so. If we held it tomorrow early evening thru Saturday late evening, is that acceptable? Or is that too short notice..... What is amnesty? Stocks reaching (currently) $10,000/share automatically split 10:1...meaning after the split you're holding the same overall value, but you're holding 10 times the number of shares at 1/10th the price. We do this so that we don't have stocks at such a high price, smaller ports can't even buy more than a few shares.....among other reasons. But, at All-Star breaks, we allow people who may have missed those stock splits (or accidently sold them, etc) to buy full shares of those stock splits if they have the available cash and port size to accomodate. This is the ONLY time during the year that stock splits in that sport can be purchased after the fact. This amnesty will involve NHL and ONLY NHL stock splits...other amnesties will involve other sports.

well...good point, actually!
it used to be we tried to impact the rest of the market as little as possible and for the shortest time because we usually lowered 'moo'.........but with our 'moo' cap, that's no longer necessary.... so...maybe there IS no reason amnesty can't be longer.... comments?
