Default Miami Marlins

The Florida Marlins have now become the Miami Marlins. They unveiled a new logo (which I think is a downgrade).

What do you guys think?

It looks like some cheezy soda logo. Too many bright colors.

They should have just kept the old logo and changed it to Miami, it would look much better than the new logo.

Rumors have it that these will be their uniforms:

I can't imagine any kid wanting one of those caps.

I dunno...even forgetting the logos and uniforms........is it a good move to try to connect more with the city while disconnecting some with the state? If the Angels thought it worked so well, why did they go from the California Angels to the Los Angeles Angels to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim?

Will it be the Miami Panthers in hockey? (I'm aware the baseball change is also related to the new stadium)

In a more rural situation, they went from having the Minneapolis Lakers to choosing to have the Minnesota Timberwolves when they got the new team. In another situation it's different by sport- we had the Charlotte Hornets then Bobcats but the Carolina Panthers.

I have to agree. I think you have an automatic disconnect with some of your fan base by going with Miami. But if they sign Albert then those same fans may reconnect real fast. lol

Because Arte Moreno loves Los Angeles. He actually wanted to buy the L.A. Kings, but he heard they weren't for sale. I heard he was interested in moving the team up the 5 freeway to be in L.A. but then that isolates Orange Country and all the riches that come with it. I think it also had something to do with their lease.

I think that the Marlins will sign one (maybe two) prime free agents, but no Pujols. The only team that might make a serious run at Albert is the Angels. Other than that, I can't see any team taking him out of St. Louis. I think they'll probably take a bigger run at Prince Fielder because he's more of a "bargain". I see the Marlins getting Jose Reyes and moving H-Ram to 3rd. Other than that...who knows?

I think you underestimate the pull of the latin community in South Florida...and there's nothing latin about Prince..'bargain' or not

...but we shall see!

I said Prince would get an offer from the Angels (possibly the Dodgers), and I see Jose Reyes (who is latin) going to Miami.
