IMO if you win the first triple crown in decades, you should be close to a lock for the MVP.....especially if your team wins the pennant AND you personally have been (debatable) shafted in prior years.

Trout had a great year and is undoubtedly ROY...but he didn't even make his team to start the year, his team didn't even make the playoffs.....and he'll have more shots at this than Miggy

I say Trout, but it depends on what you consider valuable.

Triple Crown is just a title for only three categories (admittedly important ones), but it's just three. What about other categories?

Because of that title, Trout's defense and base stealing are discounted. Truly an MVP should be a player who dominates all around. I think Trout also had a better wins against replacement value.

My three cents.

stats be important, yes

more important for MVP in my opinion would be how much better your team is when you play....and how far they go.

angels were disappointed with their result this year...no playoffs...yet they were expected to do so. Pujols slow start looms large.

Trout was my fantasy 'ace in the hole' this year...love the guy!

Cabrera is the clear cut choice, though....IMO

still playing well through the post season should offset regular season stolen bases and defense.

i think you gotta be there at the end....your team playing post season. That would be the more valuable player of the league.
