I know what you mean Brian....Els and Austin played well today....as well as they could...and still came up short. Tiger (watching the post game interview replay as we speak) was playing for pars today.....on the back 9. IMHO he could have fired at more pins if he felt he needed to.

I was going to pick the field yesterday.

Part of the reason was I thought Tiger would have somewhat of a letdown after what he did on Friday.

wasnt due to todays round though. it was due to the previous rounds.

hey. I am a tiger fan all the way. How can you not like the guy. But he did look beatable TODAY.

When have you seen Tiger miss a 5-8 footer on the last day of a MAJOR. You just dont. No I am not summarizing his one round on that 5-8 footer. But he just didnt look TIGERISH today.

Here's my take.......

Tiger's round today was a mirror-image of yesterday's round....intentionally. He hit 2, 3 & 4 irons all day....knowing if he shoots 69 that Austin has to go out and drop a 64 on him...ain't gonna happen. Els shoots a terrific round but needed a 62.....ain't gonna happen. Tiger played it right today...IMHO. He was on this week....no dbl bogies anywhere in site. Not many can match that. Els actually had 2 more birds than Tiger (whole tournament) but had 1 more bogey and 2 dbls. Austin nor Immelman had any doubles...they just can't get as many birds on a tough track like Tiger can.
