While I would like to say Beasley will win, I took the more practical road of Oden. Assuming he does not mess up again, and have season ending surgery without telling anyone.

I voted Greg Oden, but I think O.J. Mayo is probably the most practical choice. He's going to be the "go to" guy in Memphis, and he's going to have the oppurtunity to score a lot. I'd say moreso than Oden, but those Trailblazers should have a better record, and more than likely make the playoffs.

I'm thinking this is Oden's second year and he wouldn't be eligible for ROY honors, even though he didn't play last year.

a player not having played an NBA game prior to the season is, indeed, eligible for ROY honors

meaning Oden is just as eligible as Rose, Mayo, Beasley, etc

That's stricter than MLB, for example, where players can still be eligible for ROY if they've have fewer than 130 ABs prior to the season (or 50 innings pitched for pitchers) or less than 45 days on a roster.
